“Hailey’s grandmother sought Dr. Plasker’s help, knowing that chiropractic could help with Hailey’s diagnosis of Torticollis and Plagiocephaly. Torticollis means “twisted neck” and is caused by damage to or a shortening of the SCM muscle in the baby’s neck, which may be caused by lack of space in the uterus since Hailey is a twin. Plagiocephaly refers to a flattened spot on the back or side of the head, and is sometimes called Flat Head Syndrome. Because of Hailey’s inability to turn her head to one side, she consistently laid with her head in one position, causing the flattening. After Hailey’s first adjustment, she had increased range of motion in her neck. Within 2 weeks the plagiocephaly decreased 70% and she now has full range of motion. Aside from the improvements seen in the diagnosed issues, Hailey has also become more alert and active. Since then, her twin sister Addison, her mom, dad, grandma and grandpa are now all under regular chiropractic care. Dr. Plasker removed the interference, allowing innate to function best.”

7 week old – Reflux, gas, and pooping issues
I started bringing my daughter to Dr. P at just 7 weeks old. She was having issues with reflux, gas, and pooping regularly. After our first visit I was amazed at the change we saw immediately. That day she went to the bathroom 3 times which had never happened before! In addition I have noticed she doesn’t hyper extend as much while feeding and just overall seems much more comfortable! Prior to our visits our days were pretty much filled with a crying baby on and off all day but with the help of Dr. P my husband and I now remember what it’s like to eat a meal TOGETHER (crazy I know)! I would highly recommend Dr. P as he is so gentle with our little girl and extremely informative in everything he does with her making a new parent feel very comfortable with everything done to help our little girlie along!”

Severe Lower Back Pain
“It has been a true pleasure to have the Widmer family with us in the office.
We met Barbara Widmer due to terrible back pain which incapacitated her last summer. For the first time at work or at home, she was unable to participate in life the way she wanted. “It changed my life. I couldn’t function normally. I couldn’t sit, stand, or lie down with any level of comfort. I could not perform day to day activities or even put on my own shoes.”
Barbara decided a change was necessary. “I have gotten back to almost normal again, except now I listen to my body and don’t try to ‘power through’ the pain.”
According to Dr. Plasker, “Barbara has made that critical transition from Crisis Care thinking to Lifestyle Care thinking.” Congratulations Barbara for taking the steps to reclaim your Health and Life with Chiropractic.”

No more over the counter meds!
“Nick came to our office at the suggestion of his wife, Chrissy, since he had been experiencing back pain for several years. The pain led to decreased mobility and increased use of over-the-counter pain medications. He had sought help from a medical doctor who prescribed medication that eased the pain but did not examine the root causes of the discomfort, so the symptoms returned and his focus remained on pain relief. Since starting chiropractic care with Dr. Plasker, aside from the remarkable improvement with his back, Nick has also seen notable changes in his health including breathing that is less labored, better sleep and says his “posture has improved to the point where I feel as though I’m taller”.

Aging with an Active Healthy Lifestyle
“Marian Stapert is our patient of the month for August. Marian is an 84 year old amazing woman who lives a very active lifestyle. Things like carrying firewood, maintaining her home and her social commitments keep her very busy and moving. Maintaining her lifestyle is very important to her, and she knows that chiropractic is a necessary component of staying active and healthy into her later years. Although Marian experiences pain occasionally, she makes sure to keep her regular weekly appointments, even when she is feeling good, to make sure that her body is functioning at its best. She loves chiropractic because she says “it keeps my body in motion!”
Marian Stapert- Bergen County NJ
“Zoe Raia is our patient of the month for August. Zoe was brought to the office one afternoon by our patient Tim. Tim knew that Zoe was suffering with a constant cough for 3 months and he also knew that chiropractic works miracles. Medical doctors and specialists were stumped and even though she was put on several medications like a Singular inhaler, everything had been proven unsuccessful at stopping the cough. Because of her cough, her activities were limited and she could not participate in her swim team. During her exam, Dr. Plasker found a subluxation that was causing her lungs to malfunction. Since her first adjustment, her cough has subsided and she has been able to resume swimming (and has broken all sorts of records!). She also found that she recovered from a cold much faster than usual!”
Numbness in forearms
“Connie Starr is our patient of the month for September. Connie went to see a chiropractor because she had been experiencing numbness in her forearms for approximately 6 months. During this time, Connie would wake up in the middle of the night feeling the numbness and eventually she started to feel the effects of the interrupted sleep.
Since accepting care with Dr. Plasker, Connie’s numbness has stopped completely. She is sleeping through the night and feels more energetic during the day. “I feel better in general. I notice my posture improving and feel more flexibility. I pay more attention to my breathing and feel more centered!”
Dr. Plasker’s Story – Epileptic Seizures
I started having epileptic seizures when I was ten years old. After going through many medical tests and scans I was put on a drug called Dilantin. My symptoms not only persisted, I began having new ones, including gums that would bleed every time I ate or brushed my teeth.
My mother’s friend convinced her to give chiropractic a try. After a simple exam, a few x-rays, and some gentle adjustments, my symptoms not only disappeared, I was able to live and play just like any child deserves to – free of seizures and side effects. My life has not been the same since. After years of being under care and being so awestruck by other patient’s chiropractic stories, I became a chiropractor myself, and so did my two older brothers. The impact chiropractic had on my family growing up is obvious. My opportunity now to pay that forward is priceless.
The first true success story as a practitioner involved my wife Laurie. I had the honor to be a part of her first Chiropractic experience. Diagnosed at a young age with a mild scoliosis, her childhood and adolescence were constantly being interrupted by pain, often paralyzing and frightening. She had had countless MRI’s, lung scans, and EKG scans. She had been checked for tumors, blood clots, and medicated regularly with pain killers and anti-inflammatory drugs. By the time she had reached 24, she had enough. She began getting adjusted. Her results were immediate and permanent. For close to 18 years now, she is one of the most active and healthy people I know.
We have three children now. Chloe is 14 years old; Ethan is 12, and Leo is 8. They have all been receiving chiropractic care since birth, and they continue to get their spines checked regularly. Their bodies, we are blessed to say, are developing and functioning just the way they were intended. To date, we have only run one course of antibiotics, and have kept our emergency room visits limited to one per child! (Stitches to to help there body recover and heal!!) We do our best to maintain an active, healthy lifestyle, and we want you to do the same.
At Plasker Family Chiropractic Center we believe that every person deserves to be healthy from their very first breath up until their very last. We look forward to the opportunity to help you and your family express your highest health potential, and we look forward to seeing you soon!”

Recurring Ear Infections Referred by Pediatrician
“Caleb is our Patient of the Month for October because he has seen such great benefits from Chiropractic care. Caleb started getting adjusted in December of 2012 at the suggestion of his pediatrician because he had been suffering with recurring ear infections for 6 months. His mom did not like giving him antibiotics and had tried homeopathic remedies and home remedies. Nothing seemed to break the ear infection cycle, each treatment caused uncomfortable side effects and each was proving to only be a short-term solution.
Caleb’s mom didn’t know much about Chiropractic, or even that it could be for little kids, but now that Caleb is keeping up with his adjustments, his ear infections have vanished and she is happy that he is being treated naturally without drugs.”
Fluid in Ears with Recurring Ear Infections
“Hudson is our patient of the month for September because he has seen a tremendous benefit in his life due to chiropractic care. Hudson was 13 months old when he first came to our office in May 2012 after being referred by an existing patient, Erica, who also brings in her family for lifestyle care. Hudson had been having fluid in his ears and very regular ear infections since December, and as a result, had stopped talking and resorted to grunting to communicate. After his second adjustment, Hudson said “Dada” and a new word “Yeah”. After his third adjustment, he was sleeping all night, acting more animated, and using more words. His mom reports that he seems happier and more outgoing. “Words cannot express how happy and grateful I am that Hudson has made such huge strides! Thank you!” Hudson’s dad and brother are now getting adjusted since the family now understands the value of spinal health.”
Chiropractic and Orthotics
“Linda consistently possesses a positive attitude & her high energy is motivating and inspirational to others. She is an extremely thoughtful individual who always shares with others her visions of health and community. Linda recently ordered Foot Levelers sandals and not only does she love the look of them, but because she wears them everyday she feels like she is making a huge investment in her health! Her back and hip area, which have always been her source of issue, feel great and she’s received so many compliments on her sandals as well! Linda and her son Adam, 8, are living a healthy lifestyle and are proof of the importance of wellness care and a healthy spine & nervous system! Thank you Linda for being you! Your presence is always appreciated in our office!”
“Katherine Chao has experienced first hand how chiropractic care works! After an accidental fall Katherine found herself in a lot of pain and discomfort and had trouble with everyday activities. Since being adjusted by Dr. Plasker, Katherine has been able to resume her very active lifestyle even better than she was before! She has since started to bring her mother, Fe, in for regular adjustments and they are reaping the benefits of being a chiropractic family. Katherine’s naturally caring nature keeps her busy helping others on a daily basis and she “would come into the office three times a day if she could” for her adjustments to make sure she stays healthy and keeps her spine in line! She is a joy to have in the office and we look forward to every visit with her!”
“Our Family of the month for January is the Donnelly Family!! We were fortunate to have crossed paths with the Donnelly’s when the oldest child, Cameron, was assigned to our window for Halloween painting in October. Mom, Stacy, informed us of some needs that her family had and the following week Ryan, 6, who is diagnosed with Autism, started coming in to see Dr. Plasker. Since Ryan has been under care Stacy and his two sisters, Reagan & Cameron, have also started coming in to get their spines in line! Prior to care Ryan frequently ‘head bangs’ which is a common trait of Autism and done by children to literally try & adjust themselves and also had many inner ear infections. Cameron was suffering from migraine headaches, Reagan from lower back pain & Stacy was lacking the energy this busy mom desperately needs. Since this family has begun care Ryan’s head banging has completely diminished & he has not had an ear infection since, Cameron has not had one migraine, Reagan’s lower back does not hurt anymore and Stacy’s energy level has soared!! Stacy is an extremely devoted mom and very in tune with her family’s needs. She is available to anyone that has questions about Autism and is a big advocate of educating the community on this disorder. With Autism the results are based on each child and the severity of their Autism and we are extremely pleased with Ryan’s results & the results this wonderful family has seen and deserves!”
The Donnelly Family
Patient of the Month – George Feldman
“George was referred here in May of 2008 by his daughter, Brooke, who is also a patient at Plasker Family Chiropractic. For quite some time he had been experiencing a loss of hearing, had little sense of taste or smell and was experiencing lower back, hip & thigh pain. With his first examination George expressed that he had goals of not only eliminating those issues but also losing weight and gaining energy as well. With each dynamic exam his list of issues got smaller and smaller and 5 months after he started care his progress report read that “all prior negatives are gone!” George’s dedication to his care and his heath is what made this possible. He is also continually bettering himself staying active with Pilates classes which Brooke teaches, eating healthy and dieting. He has made such great strides with his goal of losing weight and is still going strong! With his increased energy George stays extremely active with his very social lifestyle and we just love having him in the office and hearing his wonderful stories!”
Patient of the Month – Jennifer Juliano
“Just 5 months after Jennifer started coming into Family Wellness Center she has seen amazing results and we genuinely couldn’t be happier for her! After experiencing neck and back pain as well as problems with her foot, Jennifer was referred to Dr. Plasker and came in to seek his help. Upon her first exam the scans showed that Jennifer was extremely subluxated and even off the charts in areas. She dedicated herself to chiropractic care and making sure that was changed. On her last exam Jennifer’s scan results showed her improvement themselves along with her feeling better physically and emotionally! Her goal was “no more black lines on my next scan” and she achieved it! Jennifer is continually improving and even making changes in her own life which she is reaping the benefits of! We are looking forward to an active and healthy future with Jennifer!”
Family of the Month – The Loscalzo Family
“The Loscalzo’s have been patients of Plasker Family Chiropractic for years and are the epitome of a chiropractic family! Stacey, Rob & their two children Caroline, and Katherine, are active in our office not only for their wellness care but also participate in our workshops and use our lending library to help maintain the active and healthy lifestyles they live. Since their first visit to our office Rob and Stacey have experienced tremendous improvement with their previous back and neck pain and the girls keep their nervous system and immune systems strong with chiropractic care. This devoted and loving family is very deserving of our family of the month award and we are looking forward to seeing them for many years to come!”
The Loscalzo Family
Patient of the Month – Frank Loscalzo
“Frank was referred here in June of 2010 by his son, Rob, who is also a patient at Plasker Family Chiropractic! Frank came to us with sciatic pain causing a discomfort down his right leg. He was also experiencing a stiff neck. Frank loves to run and unfortunately, running aggravates his pain. At one time, Frank was running under a 10 min mile. Once the sciatic pain began and started to become worse, he was running 13 min miles. Frank has been very on top of his adjustments, and because of his dedication to his health and recovery, he is now running 12 min miles and in much less pain. His goal is to reach that 10 min mile again and I’m sure with continued chiropractic care he will reach his goal in no time! Frank has also been working on his core strength by doing the Plank. When he first began he could only hold the position for 20 seconds. Now, 3 months later, he’s holding the plank for a full minute! Frank, we are so proud of you! Keep up the good work!”
Patient of the Month – Barbara Mason
“Barbara Mason was selected as patient of the month because we’ve seen inspirational changes in her lifestyle since being under care. For over a year, she struggled to stand straight and could not walk more than 20-30 steps without pain. She began as a skeptic but gradually began to see results every week, such as reduced swelling in her ankles and ease in breathing. With her dedication in following Dr. Plasker’s recommendations, she has shown great improvement. There is a little pep in her step as she tells us about her walks around the neighborhood with her Scotty and 9 month old granddaughter, Jordan. She is reaching her one year anniversary being under Chiropractic care and has met her goals. Her original goal was to be able to refurnish chairs, which is one of her passions. Since she has met her goal, we are excited to see what’s next in her plans to live an Active and Healthy life. Barbara is a whole lot happier these days as she puts it, “Dr. Plasker is super (ring your bell!!!)”.”
Patient of the Month – Drew Moll
“Drew first became a patient about three years ago after being referred to us by his wife Vicky Moll. Drew used to come to us on and off on a crisis care basis. Drew had an old knee injury that had been causing limited mobility while walking and sitting. Drew thought that this discomfort was going to be an annoyance that he would have to deal with for the rest of his life. After discovering that he had developed arthritis in his knee and undergoing three months of physical therapy, he decided give chiropractic a more corrective chance. In December 2010, when Drew would lay on the table, his right leg wouldn’t straighten and was about 2-3 in. higher than the left leg. After just four months of regular adjustments, there has been about a 40-50% improvement in Drew’s range of motion and he’s able to walk with more ease and flexibility. Drew told us he can’t wait to test out these improvements in Disney at the end of April! We are so proud of Drew’s commitment to his health and his over all progress. Keep up the good work Drew!”
Patient of the Month – Nadine Moller
“Nadine first came to us in October 2010 after hearing about us at “Richard’s Run”. Nadine had been experiencing neck/back pain, a stiff neck, pins and needles, sleeping problems, severe migraines and fatigue. Her symptoms had been preventing her from working out and living an active and healthy life. Recently, Nadine has told us that she has much more energy and has begun using the treadmill again which is awesome! She has also informed us that with each storm this winter, she was able to shovel without a problem! Nadine is always on top of her adjustments and is now down to two adjustments a week. Nadine is very interested in health and wellness and is always happy to discuss Juice Plus with anyone who asks! We are very lucky to have her as a patient! Keep up the good work Nadine!”
Patient of the Month – Trudy Silverstein
“Trudy is the epitome of a woman who is living the 100 Year Lifestyle! She is also no stranger to chiropractic care as her two children are both chiropractors & married to chiropractors as well! Being that she has 4 in her family we are very fortunate that she comes to see Dr. Plasker for her adjustments! Trudy is dedicated to doing whatever it takes to get here even amidst her very busy schedule! She is extremely devoted & goes above and beyond to make sure she is active and healthy. Since she started resuming her care with Dr. Plasker she stands taller (literally) and is a true inspiration to us all. Thank you, Trudy, for allowing us to serve you, it really is a pleasure!”
Patient of the Month – Merrill Simpson
“Merrill is a highly motivated and extremely thoughtful individual who always shares with others her visions of health and community. For two-three years, she used to suffer from discouraging sinus infections that left her feeling sub-par throughout her daily regiments of exercise and being a mother of three. Since she has regularly sought care with our office, she feels more flexibility, less neck cricks, and the numbness she was experiencing in one hand is gone. She now travels across country without catching anymore colds. She now brings her 3 kids: Charlie, Parker, Will, and her husband. As she states, “I am looking forward to a Healthy Winter For All of Us!”
Patient of the Month – Pamela Strum
“Pamela Strum came in to our office after pulling her back as the result of straining to push a heavy object. She knew about holistic approaches to health, as she herself specializes in oriental medicine. Since being under care, her dedication and love of network care has grown immensely. She enthusiastically shares her newly acquire wealth of knowledge about chiropractic care and explains the positive effect it can have on ones’ health with her own patients, family, and friends. We are proud to have her as a member of the chiropractic family.”
Patient of the Month – Cathy Vonk
“Cathy has been a member of the Plasker Family Chiropractic family since November, 20, 2009. Cathy came to us in extreme pain throughout her body including her neck, back, and ribs. Cathy had been suffering from chronic muscle spasms in her upper back, shoulders, and neck for about 6 years and was receiving acupuncture at least once per month to alleviate the pain. Cathy then began experiencing pain in her rib that would spread to her back and down her arm, causing her fingers to tingle. Within a week the pain became so severe that she had to go to the local ER. With more frequent treatments of acupuncture, the pain subsided for about 2 weeks, only to return with a vengeance causing Cathy to have trouble breathing. After under going a multitude of different tests and exams with everything turning out normal, Cathy was referred to us by Dr. Catania who thought she may have a rib out of place. Cathy is very conscious of her diet and exercise and is a vegetarian. She has also studied Naturopathy and Nutrition for close to 5 years. After Cathy’s first visit, her breathing improved greatly. Cathy has been a model patient, always being very dedicated to her care and her health. Now Cathy is symptom free, and doing great. She has shared her success by referring her sister-in-law Karen Vonk and also her cousin Jacqui Kotran.”
Patient of the Month – Matthew Carbone
“Matt’s mom brought him in to our office because he had been experiencing back pain for several months. The pain limited the activities he participated in with school and friends, which of course, is not something a teenage boy wants. Since receiving chiropractic care, Matt’s back pain has subsided and he can return to the physical activities he enjoys. One of the other wonderful benefits that Matt has experienced since beginning chiropractic care is his HEADACHES ARE GONE! He had been taking Advil on a very regular basis and reported just the other day that he has not needed to take Advil in a long time.
Chiropractic makes amazing changes in lives!”
Family of the Month – Joe & Elaine Petrowski
“Joe and Elaine are our Family of the Month for November because of their long-term commitment to their health. Here is there story in their own words:
– Reason For Beginning Chiropractic Care: Like a lot of folks – pain and impeding limitations on activities.
– What Was Your Pain Like At Its Worst And How Did It Affect Your Life?:
Elaine – when my back pain or sciatica would flair up I would not be able to do the things I enjoyed like gardening, exercise, beachcombing, even walking. I would tire easily, trip or move in the wrong direction and experience weeks of limited mobility and down- time that kept me from participating fully in too many activities. And being in pain makes it harder to have a positive outlook on life! Somewhere along the line I had bought into the idea that diminishing was how it was as you aged. NOT!
Joe- had an extremely painful leg injury that affected his ability to sit comfortably for long periods of time. That’s impossible to live with when you travel for business and want to see grandkids who live a five hour drive away.
– Previous Attitude or Experience With Chiropractic: Despite being exposed to chiropractic (Elaine’s mother has had regular chiropractic care for more than 50 years!) neither of us saw the connection between chiropractic and overall good health, feeling well, being pain free and just generally being happier and better able to handle life’s stresses, good and bad. How could chiropractic possibly work? Then injuries and pain crises “forced” each of us to make chiropractic a regular part of our lives. I started my care first. Joe was especially. skeptical. When he was injured, almost in desperation, he decided to give chiropractic a try. Pleased when the adjustments ACTUALLY DID provide relief, he stuck with it. We both gradually saw improvements in many areas -medical test results, fewer colds and flu, fewer headaches, stiff necks, better moods, more energy, less all around Angst! Now, like many converts and because we see so many personal benefits of our regular, ongoing chiropractic care, we encourage others to not only try but to stick with chiropractic care for the long term.
– What Progress Have You Made Since Beginning Chiropractic Care: more active, healthier , less stressed in general and oh yeah, pain FREE.
– What Side Benefits Have You Experienced And How Has This Affected Your Life: I tell my friends who question my habit of ongoing chiropractic care that I keep going because I am more active, have a more peaceful outlook on life, and make healthier choices now than I did when I was 35. And when I wake up in the morning nothing hurts. Repeat -nothing.”
Joe & Elaine Petrowski
Patient of the Month – Janine Kolinksy
“Janine is our Patient of the Month for December because of her commitment to chiropractic and her health. Janine has suffered with burning through her back and a stiff neck, both of which caused her to stop exercising and interrupted her sleep. Since committing to regular chiropractic care, she has been able to get back to working out, and is able to get out of pain faster when an episode arises. In addition to her spinal health, Janine has also begun exploring other aspects of overall wellness.”
Patient of the Month – Marge Costa
“Marge is our Patient of the Month for January. Marge came to us in September suffering with pain in her leg and knee at the suggestion of her daughter who recognizes the benefits of chiropractic care since bringing her son in for adjustments to help with the fluid in his ears.
Marge had been experiencing the leg and knee pain for several years – it had been constant and impacted her mobility as well as her quality of life.
Although Marge still struggles with the challenges of Multiple Sclerosis (MS), the pain is more manageable, she has more energy and a greater desire to participate. Her personal trainer has also noticed increase strength and flexibility.”
Patient of the Month – Louise DosSantos
“Louise Dos Santos is our Patient of the Month for February. Louise’s friend, Mary Lou (and Dr. Plasker’s mother-in-law!) suggested to Louise that she see Dr. Plasker because she was sure he could help with the pain in her knees and back as well as the stiffness in her neck, which she had been experiencing for about a year. She finally scheduled an appointment, and has made great strides with her progress. She is more flexible and the pain has subsided; she can climb the stairs with less pain and bend her knees with less effort. “Dr. Plasker has made me able to go about my life with less pain and more mobility.””
Patient of the Month – Christie Rodzen
“Christie is our Patient of the Month for April. Christie learned about chiropractic care several years ago when she started working here in the office with Dr. Plasker at the front desk. She knows how chiropractic is necessary for a healthy nervous system, which is why she makes sure to come in for regular adjustments to manage her subluxation patterns. When she got pregnant, she experienced shooting pains going down her legs. It was also discovered that her baby was in a Breech position. Dr. Plasker is a practitioner of The Webster Technique which is a specific chiropractic adjustment performed on pregnant mothers. The goal of the technique is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation /SI joint dysfunction, which in turn restores proper pelvic balance and function. The tense muscles and ligaments around the pelvis and uterus relax allowing the baby to comfortably assume the best possible position for birth.
Christie is happy to announce the birth of her happy and healthy daughter, Sophia! Sophia has also received her first few adjustments to make sure that the traumas associated with the birth process will not have ongoing affects on her young, developing body. We want to make sure her nervous system is functioning as well as possible. Christie and her husband, Henry, noticed Sophia had limited head rotation to the left side. They also noticed that the back of Sophia’s head was flattening more on the right side. After her first adjustment, her range of motion improved. She is no longer just rubbing her head to the right side. In just one short week the skull flattening is moving toward normal again. The body needs no help, just no nerve interference!”
Patient of the Month – Christine Eisenberg
“Christy is our patient of the month for December because she has found tremendous benefits in chiropractic.
Since a car accident in 2010, Christy was experiencing severe neck and lower back pain, as well as weakness and loss of range of motion and only found relief with the medications she was taking for her rheumatoid arthritis including the Fentanyl patch (which is a powerful synthetic opiate analgesic similar to but more potent than morphine) and Percocet. Since receiving chiropractic care in our office, she has found she can sit at the dining table and can stand for half an hour, which she could not do before. She has begun sleeping well again at night, which she had not done in years. She is also not as reliant on her medications.
Since reducing the medications, Christy has noticed an increase in her energy and ability to better care for her family. She is looking forward to resuming physical exercise.
“Dr. Plasker’s technique, method of treatment and philosophy are congruent with my own belief in chiropractic, and the natural/holistic approach to living. I now have hope that I may live with greater health all around. I’ve been spiritually healed and now with Dr. Plasker, I can be physically healed. I am excited about tomorrow and happier day by day.”
Christy has also referred her husband, daughter, niece and mother!”
Patient of the Month – Lisa Pisano
“Lisa is our Patient of the Month for January. Lisa came to Dr. Plasker in October with complaints of lower back pain which had been bothersome for several years. She had previously seen another chiropractor whose approach was problem/solution based so once she started feeling better, she stopped care until the pain came back. Lisa is focused now on Lifestyle Care and has made a commitment to chiropractic being a regular part of her health regimen. Aside from her back pain being alleviated, Lisa has also found drastic improvements with additional health issues she never associated with spinal subluxations.
As the mother of an active 2 year old son and a blogger who writes about food, fashion, family life and health/wellness topics at MomAlaMode.net, Lisa is “on all 4 cylinders at all times”. She loves that her adjustments offer her the opportunity to take care of herself.”
Family of the Month – The Brandman Family
“We are celebrating the Brandman Family for the month of February! Stephanie, the mom, wrote this following her 3 year-old’s bout with the flu: The human body has the ability to heal itself when given the chance. My daughter, Gigi, had the flu last week, and within 2 days showed no symptoms, without the use of any drugs or medicine. She was given 2 adjustments by Dr. Plasker within 3 days, and after each adjustment she was noticeably energized and in better spirits. Along with the adjustments, she was given foods and juices that were alkaline and not acidic, and I believe the combination of the treatments and the alkaline diet allowed her body to heal itself and build an immunity to further viral infections.”Since Gigi’s experience, Stephanie gave birth to another baby girl, Margalit, who had her first adjustment when she was 3 days old.”
The Brandman Family
Patient of the Month – Billie Steigleman-Posture, Sleep and Pain
“Billie is our Patient of the Month for August! She had been experiencing chronic neck and back pain sporadically for almost a year before she came to our office. She had also noticed physical challenges in her spine as a result of the incredible tightness in her back and shoulders which were affecting her at work and interrupting her sleep. Since making a commitment to her health and receiving regular chiropractic adjustments, Billie has seen significant improvement in her posture, her sleep is more restful and she is experiencing an overall decrease in neck and shoulder pain, even despite a stressful life. She is happier and more conscious of her spine and body which has helped her daily routine at work. She is making better decisions regarding exercise and food choices. She is successfully living her ideal 100 Year Lifestyle!©”
Patient of the Month – Andrew P.-Ear Infections
“Andrew is our patient of the month for September because he has found tremendous benefits in chiropractic. Andrew had suffered for an entire winter with relapsing infections that required antibiotic treatment. He was having difficulty sleeping, a mild speech delay, and congenital hearing loss. He was susceptible to every bug that came along. Andrew had been on a homeopathic pharmaceutical treatment and yet his doctors still suggested surgery. After 6 weeks of being under Chiropractic care, Andrew was able to avoid having surgery. After a few more weeks Andrew was sleeping better and his speech improved. Andrew’s Mom Megan is thrilled with the benefits of Chiropractic. Now Andrew comes in for Lifestyle care. With regular adjustments Andrew rarely gets sick and she says that his immune system is much stronger.”
Patient of the Month – Alyssa Figlio-Chronic Pain and Migraines
“Alyssa had been suffering for 10 years due to constant neck pain, lower back with sciatic pain going down her right leg. She constantly felt upper back tenderness. She also suffered with migraines often lasting 6-7 days. Last Summer (2013) was the worst. She had to leave her job and reconfigure her life and move back to Ridgewood from California due to the chronic pain. She tried medication, cleaned up her diet and has seen orthopedists, physical therapists, and chiropractors. She attended a Spinal Rehab Center for 3 months. Then continued with home therapy which included specific exercises 2-3 hours a day with minimal results.
Alyssa knew there was something missing. Something interfering with her ability to get better. “I now know the missing “puzzle piece” to my health was Chiropractic care. More specifically Dr. Plasker’s care. After a few short visits I noticed I was sleeping through the night because I was in less pain and discomfort. Not only were the adjustments gentle but I noticed greater movement in my neck and lower back with each visit. I did not have to stretch or work out 2-3 hours to feel loose and comfortable. I can workout with greater ease. My foam roller is now in the corner of my room with cobwebs on it. I no longer have to wake up or fall asleep to ice bags on my back.” Thank you Dr. Plasker and Chiropractic for helping me change my Lifestyle!! I am so grateful!”
Family of the Month – The Garvey Family
“The Garvey Family is our Family of the Month for December. Tim, Karin, Neil, Hugh and Regina value Lifestyle Care and the innate ability of the body to heal itself. With regular adjustments their family members rarely get sick and their children have maintained exceptional health while growing up. The Garvey family highly recommends Chiropractic care and has been receiving weekly adjustments for over 12 years to maintain the level of health they have come to expect.”

Patient of the Month – Diane Gess
“Diane is our Patient of the Month for March. I have had the pleasure to know Diane (Mrs. Gess) for most of my life. Her son, Richard, and I were campers together at Blue Rill Day Camp growing up. She took care of me in many ways while growing up, therefore it makes me happy that through chiropractic care, I can return the favor.
Diane was in extreme pain when she came into the office for the first time. Her pain would start in her lower back, however the nerves in her lower spine were so inflamed that her knees and feet were affected as well. She was at the point where she had already had a knee replacement.
Diane had been under chiropractic care in the past, mostly for crisis type care with good results. After the first 2 weeks of chiropractic care in our office , she noticed that she was able to walk and sit with less pain, but now she feels like she has gotten her life back. She has more energy and is able to concentrate on activities more due to the absence of pain. As she says, “The term walking on air’ may seem a bit extreme, but compared to how I initially entered Dr. Plasker’s office, I have consistently left there feeling almost airborne.”
Patient of the Month – Tracy McGrory
“Tracy McGrory is our Patient of the Month for March. Tracy had been suffering for 6 months with post-partum depression which had affected her entire life. She couldn’t go out, she “felt awful, tired, anxious, stressed, aches and pains in all joints, neck, back, headaches, difficulty sleeping.” She couldn’t enjoy her new baby, which was the worst part.
Tracy met Dr. Plasker at the Mommy & Me yoga class that was held here in our office and learned about chiropractic. Since beginning chiropractic care, she feels better; she sleeps better, is happier and has more energy that she ever thought she would have, even with 3 rambunctious kids and a full time job. She has also found that she has fewer illnesses.
Tracy now also brings her three children for weekly check-ups, knowing the great benefit of chiropractic care.
“I love this place! It’s my happy place. I feel better just stepping through the door. Any time I need him, Dr. P is always there for me and my kids.”
Family of the Month – The Halpern Family
“The Halperns are our Family of the Month! Kim first came to our office because she was experiencing neck pain which was preventing her from turning her head and driving was difficult. Kim suggested that her husband, Seth, come to Plasker Family Chiropractic – he had been experiencing lower back pain that was so excruciating that he would spend a day or two in bed when it was at its worst!! He said he “learned to live with it” and that he thought it “was normal and just part of getting older”. Aside from being pain free, he reports that he has been able to be more active again, being able to exercise more and lose weight. Kim and Seth recognize the value of spinal health and decided that the family financial plan was best so their three children could also benefit. The family says that they have been healthier, and even when they do get the occasional sickness, the duration is much shorter. The early morning hours we offer on Tuesdays have also benefited Seth since he can come in and get adjusted before hopping on the train to head to work in NYC for the day.”

Patient of the Month – Karen Levine
“Karen is our Patient of the Month for August. Karen came to Dr. Plasker in January 2012 after she hurt her back lifting her daughter. She had been in pain for 3 weeks and at the worst point of her pain, she could not turn her head and had constant shooting pain, numbing and tingling in her neck and back. After her first adjustment, she felt immediate relief from the pain in her back and neck. She says, “I felt like a new person!” After several weeks, she rarely experienced pain in the same areas. Karen also reports that she has seen a reduction in the pain and aching in her lower back which she had been experiencing for years, which she thought was just a part of aging.
We are so excited that Karen found chiropractic and spinal health!”
Patient of the Month – Ann Marie Olson
“Ann Marie Olson is our Patient of the Month for April because she has seen such drastic results with chiropractic! Ann Marie first came to our office in October 2011 suffering with excruciating pain in her back, hip and legs. She was hesitant to see a chiropractor since several friends told her “they did not help and could make it more painful”, but she knew it could help, so she scheduled her first appointment.
Ann Marie has made AMAZING progress. She has learned proper stretching exercises for her back and understands that even if her back doesn’t hurt, continued chiropractic care will prevent her back from hurting and help to strengthen her spine. She has also experienced increased flexibility and range of motion.
“My medical doctor strongly recommended back surgery, but with stretching and regular adjustments, I know surgery is not my only option.” We are so happy that Ann Marie can stand up tall again!”

Patient of the Month – Karen Liptak
“Karen Liptak is our Patient of the Month for May. For many years, Karen was waking up in the morning in pain and the pain would get worse as the day progressed. She was frustrated with her workouts (or the lack of) because she was in so much pain. She was irritable and felt like her life was slowly being consumed by her pain. Karen hadn’t really considered chiropractic since previous experiences had provided no relief. Luckily, our patient Kelly, who is Karen’s co-worker, told Karen about Dr. Plasker and her experience and Karen made an appointment.
“I never thought I would feel as good as I do! It’s actually life altering to know and feel like I’m moving forward in a positive direction. I finally have hope and faith again.” Karen has learned about the benefits of chiropractic care and spinal health even when you’re not in pain. She now brings her two children in for regular spinal check-ups!”
